Introduction

  • The Legal Affairs Directorate is the main legal advisor of the Department, and it handles all the Legal and Litigation matters.
  • The legal Affairs Directorate was established in 1994 under DOPL 231 of 10thAugust 1994

Be the best Legal advisory body for Customs Law related matters encountered by Customs staff.


Mission

"Provide legal advice on all matters related to the Customs Department, and ensuring that it functions effectively and efficiently within the framework of the Law, in order to achieve the objectives of the Department"


Main Objectives

  • Ensure required Legal opinions are provided the other Directorates.
  • Ensure all legal matters and Litigation matters of the department have been attended.
