Commissioner General of Maldives Customs pays a courtesy visit to the Director General of Sri Lanka Customs
The Commissioner General of Customs of Maldives, Mr. Abdulla Shareef paid a visit to the office of the Director General of Sri Lanka Customs while on his transit in Colombo, on 15th June 2022 at Sri Lanka Customs Headquarters, Colombo.
He was accompanied by his subordinate officer, a Senior Superintendent of the Maldives Customs, Mr. Mumthaz Abdul Rasheed. Important matters such as the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to be signed between the two countries, training matters, and the expansion & development of cooperation and relationship of both customs were discussed, during the meeting held at the conference hall of Sri Lanka Customs.
Further, the meeting was a fruitful one, as it discussed about the possibilities for sharing the technical knowhows on ICT solutions, bunkering, development and enhancing the skills of assigned officers for investigations to counter the trend of violating the regulatory provisions of the Customs authorities in both the territories, subsequent to the signing of the MOU.
ADGCC of all clusters, Senior Directors and Directors representing PP & R, ICT, I&S and Specialized Services shared their inputs during the meeting and guaranteed the continuation of a stronger and cohesive mutual relationship with their Maldivian counterparts.
